RCC9 Happy Mail!

Don't you love getting snail mail?  I do.  I'm not too proud to say that anything other than a bill or circular in the mailbox really puts a smile on my face! (Well, maybe not the spider that took up residence last week, but that's another story.)  Anywho.... it's time for this week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge!

July 4th is next week, one of my favorite holidays, so let’s whip up some creations to celebrate! These can be Independence Day inspired; Birthday cards; Red, White and Blue…..however you’re feeling inspired by the July 4th season.  Remember these can be cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings, anything will work....just be sure it has something that comes on a spool used on it. :D
I made this card using Theresa's sketch from last week's TSG challenge.  I love this sketch and made a bunch of cards to go together as a set.  I used the amazingly versitile TSG set Special Delivery.  I <3 this stamp set.
There are all  these little images that you can  put on your stamp or in your mailbox. Soooo adorable! I just had to paper-piece the mail with DP. The paper is from Girl's Paperie and twine is the luscious Divine Twine from RibbonCarousel.com.  The bling is from CTMH.  I do adore their bling! A little vintage ink from PTI and a gorgeous card for a dear friend of mine that probably thinks I've forgotten her address. ;)

Well, that's it for now.  Have a crafty day!

Hey everyone! I am joining Taylor's June Blast from the Past Blog Hop and had a great time making my card!
We're celebrating in Red, White and Blue, so I thought a beach scene would be perfect....especially since it's barely gonna break 60 here with rain.
This is quite the 3D card with lots of little details. I used Ultra Fine Flower Soft in Sand for the Sand.  Here's a little detail on the fins.
And here's the side view.  Well that's all for today! Next on the hop is one of my bestie's Danielle! Be sure to head on over to the rest of the participants to see more "Old Glory" inspirations!

These gorgeous tropical flowers were illustrated by Torico and will quickly become a favorite from your summer stamping collection! Hibiscus is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $7.
I used some retired CTMH papers and Jen's June Sketch to make this invitation.  Wouldn't this be an awesome way to be invited to a Luau? The sentiment is from the Sentimental stamp set.  I used Copics to color the image and sprayed the sentiment oval with red and purple.  The twill striped ribbon finishes it off.  Here's a close up...

WELL....You GOTTA know that I have my Copics right here just ichin' to be used.  So, pull out those coloring tools…..Pencils, Watercolors, Inks, Copics, Tombows….whatever your FAVORITE choice of coloring medium is. Under The Weather?

Hey everyone!  I started this card yesterday when it was raining (of course it was silly,  you live near Seattle!), and of course, today it's sunny and my rainy day card didn't hold as much appeal! But alas, I will share it with y'all anyways.
I bought this Nikki Silvis paper a while back for this stamp set. It's so adorable!  I started with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. Paper pieced the adorable little girl.  Sprayed the background and popped her up on top. Added a little ribbon from the RibbonCarousel.com shop and a PTI button.  Voila!  It's gonna be nice out again tomorrow so no more rain cards for me! :D  Have a great day!

RCC6 Are we there yet?

Hey everyone! Today begins RCC6 with a sketch by Danielle Lounds. Don’t you just love a good sketch challenge?! It’s a great place to start your creation.
Riley left last night on a "Red Eye", arriving in New York at 9:30 this morning.   My son, Ian, picked him up at the airport and they are now driving the 3,100 miles cross country to our home. YIKES!!!  Why didn't I go, you're asking? Because Riley thought having 2 people without any common sense driving cross country might be a little too dangerous.....LOL! And how is this little story relevant you ask???? Well, I used this fab sketch to make a card for Riley and Ian.
Now I know that Ian will be asking Riley this at least 100 times over the next few days, so I thought a little humor might be in order.  I'm going to send it to them in a picture text on Thursday. hee hee hee
Have a great day!
