Ribbon Carousel Holiday Blog Hop

Hey everyone!  We are doing a special blog hop this year, showing you all the ways that our team members use their Ribbon Carousels.  For my post, I thought I'd do something a little different and show you HOW the Ribbon Carousel came to be.
I made the very first Carousel by hand myself from a dream that I had, while living in Virginia in 2007.  Having been an inventor all my life, I was really proud of this concept and took it to show my parents in NY during Christmas 2007.
My Dad helped me refine the design based on parts available for production and beautiful Cherry hardwood that he had cut and milled himself off his land.  Here is the second Ribbon Carousel.
For about another year, we tried many designs, many configurations, and decided that to mass produce for others to enjoy, I would have to find a different material to use.  MDF seemed like the next best choice.
A white knob and MDF made the Ribbon Carousel affordable and easier to get produced.....somewhat.  It took 3 manufacturers and 2 years of trial and error, to find the right person for the job.  Once the manufacturer was in place, and the patent was applied for, now was time for the website and to sell to the public.
After a year, we realized that across the country expansion and contraction of the wood, made the Carousels difficult for some customers.  So we had to find a new material.  Plastic. Our friends in Tacoma at Kel-Tech Plastic made it work for us!
And here we are today, with a wonderful team of Designers for our challenge blog, and a fabulously successful website.  We've got more designs and additions coming in 2014!  We've been blessed by women and crafters in 27 countries, loving the Ribbon Carousel and sharing their photos and stories with us daily.  Such a blessing to our little company, and still, MADE IN THE USA!

Would you like to win your very own Ribbon Carousel? Here is what you need to do: Visit the Designer’s blogs that are participating in each day of the blog hop and comment on their posts as you go. One of the Crewmate’s Holiday blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Crewmate’s Holiday Blog Hop post.
You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more Crewmate Blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning your very own Ribbon Carousel! The Blog Hop will be open until 11:59 PM Eastern Time Monday, November 25th with the winners being announced Tuesday morning on the Ribbon Carousel Blog.

Already have a Ribbon Carousel?  Share a photo of YOUR Ribbon Carousel on our FaceBook page OR email it to info@ribboncarousel.com, and we'll share it for you!  You'll be in special drawing  for your choice of a Ribbon Carousel or 4 packages of spools!
For those that want a Ribbon Carousel NOW! Mark your calendar! We'll be having our LOWEST SALE PRICE of the YEAR sale on the Ribbon Carousels and Spools beginning TODAY - Cyber-Monday, December 2!  No coupon code needed!  Just go to our store and enjoy some happy shopping!

I didn't know your ribbon carousels existed until this weekend, it was love at first sight, and I really enjoyed reading how they came to be! As wonderful as the earlier carousel designs were, I think the final product is fabulous. I love that it's white and the clear knob and dowels are gorgeous... it's a nice change to see a storage unit that has a touch of elegance to it! Good for you, Corinna, for inventing such a clever item that's not only practical, but also puts the ribbon on full display for everyone to enjoy their beautiful colors and patterns! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win one of your carousels... it will be a wonderful early Christmas gift for the lucky winner!
