FTR17-Sunny Smiles!

***My blog candy post can be found HERE!***

Hey there!  This gonna be a quick post, cuz the sun is shining!  Well, that's pretty rare here so I gotta get me some rays when I can.  Plus, Riley and I are sans young'uns....so we're gonna go for a motorcycle ride and have a GREAT day!
But first, I'm sharing the card I whipped up for the Follow The Recipe17 Challenge using the July Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit!
These kits are AMAZING!  I used 3 of the patterned papers (MME: Lime Twist Life is a Party) and 3 Bazill cardstocks to create the card. I stamped the Butterflies and Summer Wreath from the Summer Wreath stamp set on TE Choice Snow White CS and colored with Copics. With the Seasonal Wreath Die, it was so easy to make the wreath! LOVE dies that match a stamp! Tied up the bow and VOILA!

Here's the recipe for FTR17: (I used in my card)
  • Colors – red, white, green, blue, gray, kraft
  • Stamps and Stickers – strawberries, sentiment, aliens/monsters, scientists or science subjects
  • Patternscircles, checked/gingham, scallops
  • Color Mediumsmarkers (ProMarker, Copics, White Signo Pen)
  • Embellishments – clear gloss, glitter, charms, brads, ribbon
  • Tools corner rounder punch, border punch, die cut shapes
  • Techniques – faux stitching, doodling/drawing, make an easel card
  • Theme – birthday, just hello/because
Be sure to join us this week at Linda's Linky Party!

Our sponsor is Lil Inker!  You have until Thursday, August 4, 8:00 PM EST!

Have a great day!!

This image from Bugaboo Stamps is perfect!  And since Bugaboo is sponsoring FTR10 challenge, what could be better?  How about winning........
That's right!  Playing with us at the Catered Crop "Follow-the-Recipe" linking party is easy-peasy! Here's how it works:

  1. Use any of the ingredients (themes, colors, techniques, shapes, etc.) to make your project. Just pick a few ingredients and then add your own spices to cook up something uniquely yours.
  2. Be sure to list your recipe or tell us what ingredient you used from the sample recipe.

Here's the FTR10 recipe: (items I've use from the recipe are in PINK)

  • Pattern Paper – stripes, miniprints (We R Memory Keepers Peep)

Catered Crop's Follow The Recipe Challenge

Hey everyone!  It's time for Catered Crop's Follow The Recipe Challenge #6!  This is by far one of the best challenge sites EV-AH!!

  •  Pattern Paper – Go Crazy with Patterns!
  • Colors – Anything Goes! Mix and match, try some black accents
  • Stamps – Aprons, images from the kitchen or cupcakes
  • Color Mediums – Prisma Pencils, pens (like Sharpies or Jelly Roll), black ink, distress inks

Peggy Marsh, one of our Top Chef design team members, has a great tutorial for using Prisma pencils that will truly change your life – paper craft speaking that is.

I decided to whip up a kitchen scene.  The fabulous "domestic goddess" is mixing up some cupcake batter, while sipping a cool adult beverage, complete with olive.  (If you missed our Top Chef Linda's "Olive You" post, hop on over there for some awesome eye candy....but not till you're done with my post of course. :D)

Here's a close up of the appliances.  I used Silver cardstock and rhinestones.  I really need a stove with some serious bling. :D
I used Liquid Pearls (a la Danielle Lounds) to highlight the sentiment.....wouldn't want anyone to miss it. :D
Here is a close up of the "floor".  I angled the patterned paper so that it would look more like tile.  A little tricky lining up the front layer to the bottom layer. It really worked!! So proud of myself on this one.

  • Pattern Paper – (Go Crazy with Patterns!) October Afternoon Modern Homemaker, Thrift Shop
  • Colors – (Anything Goes! Mix and match, try some black accents) Got it!
