A Trinket Box for the Birthday Boy and FTR9

Guess what time it is? Yup its time to.......

I am telling you this is the easiest Challenge in Blog-land.  Just pick one lil' 'ol part of the recipe and use it on your creation.  That's it!  I used several of Nana's ingredients for Catered Crop Follow the Recipe (FTR) #9.  I always start with a sketch, this time using Mojo Monday 185.
I am still stuck on FTR8's boxes theme, so I decided to make a gift box for a boy.
Boys have trinkets too, and never have much to put their stuff in, so voila, boy box!  If you want to see what's in the box, stop by tomorrow! ;)
I used the new release stamp set from TSG, Out of This World.  Here's the little boy up close..

I just love this stamp set that was designed by Melyssa Connolly for TSG.  I used Collage Pauge by Aleene's to cover all the DP.  I love this stuff!! (Way better for me than Mod Podge for some reason.)

And here's how I followed the recipe:

Here's the FTR9 recipe. Recipe items are in parenthesis,  the items I used are in blue.
  • Pattern Paper – (stripes, plaids and polka dots)Bo Bunny Blast Off!
  • Colors – (kraft, red, green, blue, and yellow) PTI cardstock
  • Stamps – (alphabets and stars) There She Goes Out of This World
  • Color Mediums – (stamping ink) Copics
  • Embellishments – (bling, buttons, ribbon) Karen Foster Crazy Coil Brads
  • Tools – (sewing machine, distressing tools) MFT star dies, Spellbinders Star Dies
  • Techniques –(sewing, distressing, try threading your buttons with ribbons, ruffled paper/ribbon) Decoupage using Collage Pauge by Allene's

Have a great Sunday and I'll see you tomorrow!! :D

I Wuff You!

I got my batch of new releases from There She Goes Clear Stamps and HAD to use the adorable Puppy Love stamp set right away!
I mean REALLY! Look at how adorable that little girl is with her pup! I used Maria's sketch over at Mojo Monday152 and color challenge 46 at colourQ

And of course, my fave is combining challenges with Pile it On's Get Into Shape. Now the BIG prize over at Pile It On 32 (ScrapBox giveaway!) is a chance at winning a new, limited edition SCRAPBOX! The Original Scrapbox just shipped Rachelle a new limited edition collection so I NEED to win! You can also enter at Rachelle's Blog! I LOVE the new super sized Giant Cutting Board; my accessory of choice so pick me, pick me Pile It On! I'd love to be included in the final drawing for the Scrapbox!

OMG Riley would be SOOOOO happy if I won one of those! He'd get his room back....ummm...well maybe not. hee hee :-D
OK, so now I'm excited!! Well, here's my card for the entries in full:
Oh I just LOVE this stamp set! I colored with my copics, added polka dots to her dress with my blender pen and had a great time with the challenges. Such fun!

Be back tomorrow with more colorings and creations, and maybe another sneak peek. :-D

Lemonade....Just for You

Hey Everyone! It is HOT here in WA, so I thought I'd make a thank you card with a "summery" lemonade image from PTI's stamp set called Friendship Jar.

I'm using the MOJO Monday #146 sketch, along with Color Throwdown's 100th Challenge! Congrats on your 100th Throwdown!!! And of course Pile It On....which is using "my favorite thing" this week.  Well, my favorite thing right now is Copics! I just LOVE 'em.

Here is a little Copic Tip, especially for the wonderful consultants that are taking my VC class today, you can make your own plaid with the Colorless Blender Pen.  Just fill in you image solid first, then run the CBP diagonally in each direction.  Go slowly, so the blender solution can PUSH the color to the back of of the cardstock.
Another Copic Tip: You can use Liquid Glass OVER your color without it bleeding, unlike water based dye inks (like CTMH and SU).  See how I put the LG over my "lemonade". It'd work for "margarita's" or good 'ol sweet tea too. hee hee
See here's my Margarita: hee hee
And here's my card finished:

Gotta get ready to teach class.  Hope y'all will leave me some love so I know you're here! :-D

My first TSG 57 TPE Mojo 141 challenge card!!

I've decided that it's time for me to get serious about doing these weekly challenges....like instead of just looking at everyone's entries, maybe I should start participating...lol.  Then I had to decide which ones to do.  I'm a big Pile It On fan.  But sometimes you can get overwhelmed and just not do any of them...kinda like housework (hee hee).  SOOOO, I've decided to pick a few challenges that I love looking at each week to participate in and then I can grow from there.  If I do a few each week that's better than none, right!

I used the new Close to My Heart Paper Splendor which fit perfectly for the color challenge.  It's my new favorite paper from the Summer catalog.  Do you have a catalog? If not, just shoot me an email and I'll get one out to you.

I used the TSG stamp set Take Flight and used my new PTI cloud dies!!  I love these dies!!
i

I used the Spellbinders die Labels 4 and my Copic Air Compressor to color in the sentiment area.  Easy peasy when you've got the right tools, let me tell ya.

I colored in the balloon with Copic markers and finished it all off with sewing around the edges with my Janome Sew Mini and Coats and Clark Heavy Duty Cream thread.

Well, off to make dinner.  Let me know what y'all think and I'll be posting much more frequently now that I'm all set up in my new craft room. :-D

Hot Diggity for Mojo Monday!

Good mornin' y'all.  I'm sipping a Mocha Fudge Latte this morning with a splash of SF Caramel syrup that Riley bought me at the local coffee house.  YUMMY!!  All of my NEW Close to My Heart product has arrived and I must say, this is the BEST summer catalog I've see from CTMH!  So here is a sneak peek of my FA-vor-ITE paper pack called Splendor and the matching designer brads in fabric and metal.....oh, oh, so excited!

I'm using the pattern from this week's Mojo Monday Challenge  and make your own flower from the Cupcake Craft Challenge and of course my all-time FAVORITE challenge blog, Pile It On "no images".

One of the corresponding Stamp Sets is called Hot Diggity and boy do I LIKE that saying.  Here I used the CTMH Cocktail Alphabet (E1015) for the word HOT and the "diggity" from the new Hot Diggity set.  I'll have a sneak of the images in this set later this week.

I made the flower using 7 circles.  The technique is high-lighted in the new catalog.  The fabric brad in the center is just fab and the metal brads in the corresponding set are below.

Card Recipe: All items Close to My Heart (CTMH) unless otherwise noted

Paper: Splendor (X7124B), White, Crystal Blue, Topiary cardstock
Stamps:  E1015 Cocktail Alphabet, C1407 Hot Diggity
Accessories: Splendor Designer Brads (z1317)
Tools: CTMH Circle Punch, Fiskars Border Punch

I'm happy to be back!  I'm so happy in fact that I'm going to give away my first Blog Candy so look for a post later today!  And remember, every blogger loves comments so leave me some love peeps!!
