Date Nite

Sorry I've not blogged in a bit....been busy working on Riley's album!! Only about 30 hours till he's home so I'm safe to share this single page layout.

I used a bunch of different papers and stamp sets for this one.  The "film strip" is from Close to My Heart's Dimensional Elements (chipboard) line.  I love this chipboard because it's WHITE so you can ink it, stamp it, emboss it, whatever you fancy.  Here, I stamped Noted Backgrounds down it to give it a "film" feel.  A little sponged ink, but that was it.  I printed the movie posters out as wallet sized prints and trimmed to fit.  The "film" holes are ~ 1.5 x 1.5.

Here is a close up of "da bling!"  I love bling, this was a frame from CTMH Connection Club rewards.  Hopefully they come out with some more.  Just am ga-ga over it!!

Just a clearer shot of the pics and journaling.

Hope y'all like this one.  I'm trying to go a bit outta the box this week on Riley's album.  I really hope he likes it!  I'll post more layouts along with the layout recipe tomorrow.  Toodles!!

Grunge it up!

Today's card for Riley was inspired by a new blog and online store I found, Bad Girls by Wendy Rago.  OH MY is it ever fabulous with AWESOME shabby chic and grunge style crafting! Her kits are to die for and the artwork on the gallery is out of this world! SUCH talent out there!

OK, so the sewing machine foot pedal isn't working and my sewing is crazy bad, just over look that or perhaps we can just say that it "adds character"!

I finished the inside with more distressing and CTMH Notebook paper.

The crown and bird and flourish are embossed.  It's my favorite technique, embossing.  I think I emboss on almost everything I do.  I just love the look and dimension it adds.

Happy Birthday PTI!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Papertrey Ink!!

I have been a huge Papertrey fan, but as a CTMH consultant, have never really strayed from my business brand until last month. I broke down. I saw some cute, funny, delightful stamps that filled a empty niche in my stamp box.

I saw the PTI set "Say It With Style" and I had to have it. I purchased my first three PTI sets and know that I have to have more.

What is different about these designs is the thoughtfulness put into them. I was a dedicated scrapper for a long time, but as my son has entered college, I have found myself making cards more and more. PTI sets are PERFECT for beautiful cards!

Here's a card for the Papertrey (PTI) 3rd Birthday Celebration: Day 2 Challenge. I used Dawn's image since it matches the font in the Say it with Style stamp set. I stamped the Happy Birthday stamp as a background stamp in blush ink on hollyhock cardstock.

So cheers to you Nichole and the whole PTI team! Congrats and here's wishing you many, many more birthdays!
