Swimming By to Say Hi!

Hey y'all, its another crafty kinda night here in WA.  I just got these AWESOME Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and gotta tell ya, they are DA BOMB! I just love all the images and sentiments for summer cards.  So Girly, and perfect for Bunny Zoe's Crafts first challenge!
I made a 5.5 x 5.5 square card using the sketch from Cute Card Thursday #117
Kraftin' Kimmie is sponsoring this month at Cute Card Thursday so mosey on over and try out the challenge.  YOU could win two of the Mermaid images! WOO HOO!!  The challenge over at Hand Full of Stamps is H2O and I'm guessin' a Mermaid in Water is good for that one. :-D    I used my Copics to color her and Stickles all over her entire tail to give her lots of glitter and shine perfect for the Drunken Stampers Challenge #21 color and bling!!  I cut her out and pop-dotted her to add depth.
I used one of my Nesties and air brushed the background.  By changing the tip of your marker and lightly pressing your gun in "spurts" you can make those cool dots or spray. Here's a better close up.
They look like little bubbles surrounding her and her horsey friend. :-D  OK, so I don't actually own any stickers, but I am the greatest fan of Pile It On so I'm taking the liberty to enter over at PIO even though I didn't use a sticker for challenge#24. OOPS!!

Here are the Copics that I used.

I'm putting the finishing touches on a class that I'll be teaching at the Virtual Convention the beginning of July.  I'll offer the class here on the blog at the end of July so stay tuned.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie Mermaid Collection
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, CTMH Black for sentiment
Cardstock: PTI Stamper's Select, Lavender Moon
Patterned Paper: PTI Bitty Dot Basics, Basic Grey Kioshi
Accessories: PTI Black Buttons, CTMH Black Hemp

Thanks for visiting and be sure to tell me what ya think and have a Crafty Day! :-D

A Good Dad vs A Great Dad

Mornin' everyone!! Here's the card I made for my soon-to-be FIL.  He's got a GREAT sense of humor so I thought he'd love the sentiment from the There She Goes - Dadisms stamp set.
I used B1347 Lifetime stamp set from CTMH for the nail heads that I embossed in Cocoa.  I colored the hammer with Copics.  The background stamp "The Facts of Life" from Dadisms is hysterical.  I know my parents have said each of them a million times, and honestly, I think I've used a few myself....hee hee.  Here's the inside:
I did use ribbon but NO BOW alright.  Golly, I just have to use ribbon it seems.  The Ribbon, buttons and cardstock are PTI.
I sewed the cardstock on with my Sew Mini from Janome with Coats and Clark Dual Duty Heavy XP.  Sewing is sooooo easy with this thread and machine.  If you have been gun-shy on this technique, put your fears away.  It really is easy and adds tons of dimension to your artwork.  And here's the finished card:
I die cut the envie insert using PTI's new die.  It is so easy now to decorate the inside of the envelopes.  WOW how polished the set looks with this little touch.  The paper is Passages from CTMH.  I love this paper pack.  2 sheets each of 6 double-sided patterns, 10 sheets of matching White-core cardstock for only $12.95.  Can't beat it!

Well that's all for today.  Gotta make a grad card for Daisy's party later today.  Have a great weekend!!

Dadisms for Father's Day...hehe...and a Copic tip

Good Morning! I'm sippin' an English Toffee skinny latte and am so excited that we finally have a little sunshine in the rainy state of WA.  WOO Hoo.  I am going to be late with my dad's father's day card, but it just HAD to be perfect and well, ya know that takes time.
Anywho, here is his card.  I used a fabulous stamp set from There She Goes called "Dadisms".  Jessica's stamps are just so funny and cleaver.
Here's a Copic Tip: When I color my image, I tend to saturate the paper with ink.  Not always, but when there are lots of colors and lots of shading, I might take a couple of days to finish it so it gets pretty saturated.  Here's the front of the image.

 Now, here's the back:
This saturation is a good thing according to the Copic Queen, Marianne Walker.  She was my instructor at certification class in Portland and is a GREAT Copic Artist.
I used Jessica's instructions on making a floor, and paper pieced the curtains with CTMH Passages scraps I had around. A little distressing with ink and the PTI linen plate. (I distressed for the There She Goes Challenge-TSG59). Then added some PTI twine and button to finish off the card.
I hope he likes it! And I hope you do too.  Have a great weekend celebrating the wonderful men in your life!! See you Monday. :-D

You Quack Me Up!!

Good Morning Y'all!  Everybody have their coffee yet? I'm sipping a Raspberry Chocolate Skinny Late straight from my Keurig.  I am LOVIN' this little stamp and sentiment by Rachelle Anne Miller for PaperWorks Co called Puddles of Fun.  I saw this weeks card sketch at  Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #117 and thought it was perfect!

I finally received the Thrift Shop paper pad by October Afternoon and boy do I LOVE it! Had to use it for this card that I made for my future MIL.  The sentiment is wonderful and fits her perfectly.

It says: Rain or Shine, you quack me up! :-D

The little family of ducks is precious.  I colored with Copics and did some highlights with pink, yellow and clear Spica pens.

The ribbon is Stampin' Up with Summer Sunrise from PTI layered on top.  I finished the bow off with  sweet leaf and lemon tart buttons from PTI.

LOVE this card and love the wonderful lady it was made for too! And since I LOVE doing the challenges now, here are a few other challenges for this card:
and the Mother of All Challenges...... Pile It On #23 - Summer Showers

Card Recipe:

Stamps: PaperWorks Co.-Puddles of Fun

Cardstock: PTI Stampers Select, Rustic White, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides
Ribbon: Stampin' Up Apricot Appeal, PTI Summer Sunrise
Twine: CTMH Juniper Waxy Flax and Colonial White
Buttons: PTI Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart

Hope you enjoy the card. I'd love to know what you thought so leave me some love!!  Now go have yourself a crafty day! :-D

Hats off to the Graduate

Hey y'all! It's graduate weekend and I've got lots of cards to make.  Here is one that I'm using as a template and just changing colors for each different school (assembly line is a great way to make lots of cards).  I'm not quite a pro at spacing the year yet on this Papertrey Ink stamp set called For the Graduate but I CAN tell you I LOVE the versatility of this set.  It is not just for graduations at all.  The background was stamped with the PTI set Background Basics: Tin Types.

I used the Mat Stack 1 die and stamped the focal point in black.  I stamped it again on scrap paper in Scarlet and punched out the circle to layer.  I then added the Jolee's Dimensional sticker grad cap and moved the tassel to the left side to cover the stamped hat completely.
And finished off the inside COMPLETELY CASEing the PTI Gallery.

Gotta git! Riley and I are rearranging my Studio when he gets home from work. :-D  Have a great weekend everyone!!

I'm in the Trendsetting Spotlight at There She Goes Clear Stamps today!!

WOO HOO!! OK, listen.  We all want our work to be liked by someone, right? And usually, for me lately, it's been my fiancee Riley and his mom, Nancy {*waving*}.  So for someone I've never met to actually like my work and want to feature me on their site....WELL....now that's a great day indeed!!

I was contacted by Holly over at There She Goes Clear Stamps to be in the Trendsetter Spotlight. Oh yeah baby!! My first time being recognized publicly for my artwork.

Here's the link to the post which is just FABULOUS!! I am definitely excited and grateful! :-D

Go on over and see all the great Trendsetters and artwork, tips and techniques.  I love this blog!

I'll be back with a few new cards later today, after I get my breath back. :-D

~Trendsetting Spotlight on Corinna M~

It's time for the Trendsetting Spotlight! Each Thursday we feature a card made by someone who has participated in the previous week's TSG Challenge. Would you like to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight?? Join in the fun by participating in our weekly challenges posted every Monday!

Hello, my There She Goes lovin' friends! As summer approaches, the urge to get out and do summery things is upon us. I actually went for a nice walk with my 17 yr old son last evening. I told him (and don't you laugh!) that I would like to be in good enough shape to put on a bathing suit by this time next year. One can dream.

This week our spotlight is on Corinna M. Have you ever just looked at a card and wanted to walk or jump right into it? That's how I felt when I saw this amazing creation Corinna made with the Aim For The Clouds set.

Corinna, amazingly enough, has only been stamping for three years! The girl has serious talent. She discovered clear stamps on the back of a scrapbook magazine, of all places, and well she's been hooked. She is hoping to get published by the end of 2011. I think she's a shoe-in!

She loves her Copic markers and we can add her to the long list of ribbon addicts, too. Speaking of ribbon, it seems Corinna is a bit of an inventor, too! She has invented a Ribbon Carousel. I'm curious to see that, aren't you?? I'll buy!

Originally an East Coast girl, Corinna and her Fiance have recently moved to the Pacific Northwest (Just this February!) and now live in Washington. She also has an 18 yr old son who is a Sophomore at Clarkson University. I bet she is one proud mama!

And as if all that isn't enough, Corinna is planning her wedding for October! I think I can speak for the team when I say CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

You can read more about Corinna and see her beautiful work here ~ Stamping and Scrapbooking with A Java Junkie

Don't forget to stop by the TSG forums tomorrow night for the Friday Night Chat!!

Genevieve and the CUTEST charm!

Hello! I've got such a fun card to share with you today.  In my quest to do a few challenges a week, I'm entering my first Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge-Tricky Triangles using Genevieve and the NEW Passages patterned paper from Close to My Heart's Summer 2010 catalog.

I used Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream cardstock and the Sweetly Offset card template from the Card Pattern Book Originals .

I stamped the sentiment in Barn Red and Olive then crinkled, wrinkled and rolled the cardstock, ripping the ends to add to the rustic "adventure" of the card.

I colored Genevieve with 26 different Copic Markers....completely unnecessary, I was just screwing around experimenting.

I assembled, added Papertrey Ink Ripe Avacado Saddle Stitched Ribbon, CTMH copper brads and an awesome charm I found on ETSY.

And now, once again, I'm off to make some dinner and snuggle with my man. Tell me what you think, I'd love to hear any suggestions or comments you might have.  See you tomorrow! :-D

My first TSG 57 TPE Mojo 141 challenge card!!

I've decided that it's time for me to get serious about doing these weekly challenges....like instead of just looking at everyone's entries, maybe I should start participating...lol.  Then I had to decide which ones to do.  I'm a big Pile It On fan.  But sometimes you can get overwhelmed and just not do any of them...kinda like housework (hee hee).  SOOOO, I've decided to pick a few challenges that I love looking at each week to participate in and then I can grow from there.  If I do a few each week that's better than none, right!

I used the new Close to My Heart Paper Splendor which fit perfectly for the color challenge.  It's my new favorite paper from the Summer catalog.  Do you have a catalog? If not, just shoot me an email and I'll get one out to you.

I used the TSG stamp set Take Flight and used my new PTI cloud dies!!  I love these dies!!

I used the Spellbinders die Labels 4 and my Copic Air Compressor to color in the sentiment area.  Easy peasy when you've got the right tools, let me tell ya.

I colored in the balloon with Copic markers and finished it all off with sewing around the edges with my Janome Sew Mini and Coats and Clark Heavy Duty Cream thread.

Well, off to make dinner.  Let me know what y'all think and I'll be posting much more frequently now that I'm all set up in my new craft room. :-D

Love in a cup!

Just thought I'd share a wonderful pic of happiness and love in a cup. I've been working on lots of new artwork with Haley. Artwork and my first Copic tutorial to follow later today!!
