Another CTMH sneak peak!

Hey everyone!! I didn't realize how long it's been since I blogged.  Last week was a blur getting ready for my first event in WA state. I hosted an all day crop in the new Studio and what a blast it was!! Here is a sneak peek at the Memory Box that I created with new CTMH papers and stamps.
I colored Santa in with a blender brush and ink pads.  It wasn't like coloring with Copics, but I still got depth by coming back in on Day 2 for some extra shading.  I used the NEW Mocha Opaques to add some texture to the berries. I LOVE these! The "On with the Show" (left) layout is from the NEW How-To Book, Magic, debuting Sept. 1 with all of the other products.
I used Mod-Podge on the Memory Keeper Box (Z1116)
I really LOVE this new stamp set (D1449 Father Christmas) and paper (X7130B Mistletoe).
The Noel is a single stamp that I masked and then cut into seperate letters. I pop-dotted the letters and added the opaques to bling it up a bit.
This is the side of the box, complete with velvet ribbon.  It looks so vintage and shabby.  Not really my crafting style, but it sure did flow easy. That's what happens when you're working with great product!
We will be creating the box and 20 cards as an all day workshop Dec 4.  Contact me if you're interested!! Back to the crafting desk!! I'll show you the cards over the next few days too!

I Wuff You!

I got my batch of new releases from There She Goes Clear Stamps and HAD to use the adorable Puppy Love stamp set right away!
I mean REALLY! Look at how adorable that little girl is with her pup! I used Maria's sketch over at Mojo Monday152 and color challenge 46 at colourQ

And of course, my fave is combining challenges with Pile it On's Get Into Shape. Now the BIG prize over at Pile It On 32 (ScrapBox giveaway!) is a chance at winning a new, limited edition SCRAPBOX! The Original Scrapbox just shipped Rachelle a new limited edition collection so I NEED to win! You can also enter at Rachelle's Blog! I LOVE the new super sized Giant Cutting Board; my accessory of choice so pick me, pick me Pile It On! I'd love to be included in the final drawing for the Scrapbox!

OMG Riley would be SOOOOO happy if I won one of those! He'd get his room back....ummm...well maybe not. hee hee :-D
OK, so now I'm excited!! Well, here's my card for the entries in full:

Close to My Heart (CTMH) Sneak Peak!

Oh how I love SNEAK PEAKS!  Here is a card I made using the new CTMH colors and stamps that will be available Sept 1. :-D These colors are from the "Hooligans" paper is adorable and is really fun.

The stamp set, called "Party Animal", is fabulous!  I masked each character to make the grouping. Here are some pics of the masking.
I used my copics to color in the little guys.
A little embossing to add the sentiment...

...and voila....a cute card for a little one this halloween.

You can get your "Party Animal" stamp set on my CTMH website after September 1 OR contact me to schedule your catalog party or internet party and get it for FREE!  See you again tomorrow for another peak!

By the Sea with TSG!

Hey y'all! Did ya miss me? I know, I've been a mediocre blogger this summer, but things are almost back to normal here! Any hoo, here's a card I made for my grandma. She "retired" to Florida this past year, at 80-something (ladies never tell). I thought it'd help cheer her up since she's still not that thrilled with the move.
I used the most serene stamp set from There She Goes Clear Stamps called By the Sea.  I used the TSG67 Blog Sketch Challenge, posted every Monday for you Challenge-lovers.  I was also inspired by the ABC Challenge A is for August, The Pink Elephant TPE79-Summer Fun, Sentimental Sundays Challenge#15-Anything Goes challenges!

I colored with my Copics and then added some Copic Opaque White for the wave caps and highlights.
You random stamped the left panel on PTI Aqua Mist using CTMH Desert Sand ink.  Of all the inks I own, it is the best match for the PTI Kraft Cardstock.  I added some PTI ribbon, a CTMH white crochet flower and PTI button with CTMH hemp to finish the panel.
I strung hemp through the white eyelets to frame the sentiment. Then I added some BRAND NEW SPARKLES from CTMH under the sentiment.  The new bling comes out on Sept. 1, but you get a little sneak peek now. :-D
Today is my first real day off in months. A day to myself to relax. Ahhhh. So I'm gonna go make some pages and cards! Be back soon! :-D

Copic Matching the 8 NEW Close to My Heart (CTMH) Colors!

Hey everyone! We're back from vacation and it sure was a wonderful trip! We white-water rafted, kayaked, camped, get the drift. So refreshing! While I was gone, my new product from CTMH arrived. Althought the catalog doesn't release for another few weeks, I thought I'd give y'all a peek at the new colors.

Now it's time to get to creating! I'll be back soon with some sneaks of our new products! :-D

Make Your Own Lightbox!

Hey everyone! I am gone vacationing for a few days before summer is gone in WA. Thought I'd share some saved up cards and projects this week while I'm kayaking and whitewater rafting. ;-)

I saved this great tutorial on how to build your own lightbox and FINALLY got around to making it with the help of Riley and Dylan.  I'm including all the steps I think but I have included the original LINK HERE.

First, get a random box, in good condition.  I bought a medium-sized moving box 18" square.  Next, measure a 2 inch perimeter around each of the 4 sides of the box.  The size square you make on each side will vary depending on the original size of the box.  This really doesn't matter, as long as whatever you're going to photograph can fit inside.
Once you're finished measuring carefully cut out the square on each side.

Now tape the bottom together firmly and trim the flaps off the top so it is completely open.

I consider these first few steps"manly" work, so Riley and Dylan did those parts for me. :-D (Love You Guys!!)

Enough of that mushy stuff, back to the light box.....

Here it is all ready to finish.

Next, cut white scrapbooking cardstock in 2" strips to line the inside of the box with.  Basically, you'll want the inside to be all the same color so the light will bounce off the white onto the image you're photographing.  This will also minimize the potential of shadows.

Now take those strips and line the inside of your box.  It doesn't have to look perfect or "pretty". Just be sure you cover all of the sides SECURELY.  I used liquid adhesive "Liquid Glass".
Trim your white poster board the same length as your box bottom.  It should be longer than the bottom cuz you're gonna slide it in the box and let it bow to cover the bottom and back. I used a 22" x 28" piece of posterboard and trimmed it to 18" x 28".

Next, You'll need 4 pieces of tissue paper, white cloth, anything that you can use to diffuse the lights that you'll place beside and over the box when photographing. I used tissue paper from the dollar store and Liquid Glass cuz NOTHING messes with that stuff!
The last thing you need is lighting for each side and the top.  I am using two lamps with OTT-LITE bulbs and an overhead OTT-LITE.  Perfect for getting nice, crisp, natual light that captures the colors we all love so dearly!
And Voila, your own light box perfect for photographing cards, 3D art, layouts; Whatever YOU create!!

Tell me what you think and if you're going to create your own light box. :-D
